A Day In The Life Of A Woman Founder And Mumpreneur
Contributed by Franziska Grobler March 19, 2018
Getting things done quickly and in the best way possible is probably this founder and mumpreneur’s main secret to juggling life. Her highlight as a business Founder is seeing her clients achieve success and make impact.
Titled “A Day In The Life Of A Woman,” this series celebrates the women in our lives. From the everyday to inspirational, the series aims to highlight women from various fields and share a bit of the diversity we experience every day.
Franziska Grobler thrived in a corporate marketing career in South Africa’s automotive retail industry for 11 years and then decided to enter uncharted territory in Singapore. She founded Jadeways Solutions PTE LTD in early 2017, a company specialising in website and bot design, as well as marketing consulting services.
She is a largely South Africanized native German, currently residing in Singapore with her husband and two children.
A typical day in Franziska’s life involves transitioning seamlessly between being a marketer, strategist, analyst, advisor, mom, wife, business woman, and founder. Here is a breakdown of a typical day for her:
6:15 AM: Alarm clock announces the start of a new day. I finish up and get my three and five-year old girls ready for school. We have a family breakfast.
7 AM: The whole family tribe walks our eldest to the school bus, followed by a lovely cup of coffee in the company of my husband and my youngest daughter. I begin to check my personal messages and catch up with friends, after which I complete the 2nd school run for my youngest.
8:30 AM: I complete strategy, planning, and research-related work for my current business and another three passion projects, which I am planning to launch as start-ups soon. Mental note to myself—“The sky is the limit.” I also like to schedule appointments in the morning.
10 AM-12 NN: Second cup of coffee and a chance to confirm lunch and dinner arrangements with our “Good Fairy,” without whom I would not have so much time available to myself.
I commence with my client’s work, requests, and accounts—this could be anything from designing or updating a website, to creating a strategy document, checking, and interpreting analytics.
12 NN-1 PM: I fetch my youngest from school and we either share lunch together or I attend a powerhouse gym workout at F45 (twice a week) after which I let my three-year-old take a nap to recharge her batteries from an eventful morning.
1 PM: I am back online commencing with my client’s work.
3 PM– 6 PM: I play with my children and devote myself to being a mother.
6 PM: I bathe my kids then scan through my inbox. We enjoy a family dinner with my amazing and supportive husband, after which the children go to sleep.
8 PM–11 PM: I am back online, doing invoicing and accounting, checking the social media landscape, completing any outstanding items on my agenda whilst enjoying my co-working husband’s presence next to me on the couch.
11 PM: We share our last tea to end the day on a relaxed note.
Efficiency And Effectivity Are Keys
I value work life balance as one of my core principles and I believe that efficiency and effectiveness is the key to it all, so I strive to be as efficient and effective as I can in everything I do—personally and professionally.
WHY? Because I wish to balance my inner drive to be a successful business woman, pursuing my passion with the powerful motherly instincts and calling that awoke in me after the birth of my children.
Helping Others In Their Success
Franziska also finds joy in helping others achieve success. “My passion involves all things digital, strategy and marketing. I help my clients to improve their marketing success through the strategic creation and shaping of digital footprints. It now gives me great pleasure to guide my clients on their journey of creating & shaping digital footprints in order to improve their marketing success.”
“My services include websites, chatbots, strategy development, marketing support and graphic design –but what really lights me up, is to help my clients see the connection of all of these digital assets and tools and the strategic approach to turn each and everyone of them into an amplifier and enabler to achieve more impact and therefore improve marketing success.”
