Key Tips For Traveling Entrepreneurs

So your job requires you to travel a lot. Indeed, the way we do business has changed in this millennium. People are not confined to their offices, and they often need to travel to various sub offices within the country or other parts of the world. If you’re a traveling entrepreneur, you may already be used to all the hassles of travel but if you’re a newbie to travelling for work purposes, you may need to arm yourself with tricks and skills to make your work travel hassle-free. Instead of the usual traveling light tips and ideas, here are a few tips upon landing in a new location.

Familiarise yourself with coffee houses, bookstores, or a library that has free wi-fi.

You may have the best portable ISP carrier but you won’t know when it will act up. So find backup. Nothing can be more unnerving than needing to email that report, and your ISP doesn’t respond!

Be familiar with the “office supplies” stores in your area.

If you’re billeted in a hotel, be familiar where the business centre is. It could turn out to be your best friend while you are traveling!

Be aware of “arts supplies” shop such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

You never know when you’ll need to be creative for a presentation. When inspiration strikes, you will need tools to make a creative presentation!

Find out the location of UPS or any courier service for shipping needs.

Despite the convenience of email, there are important items we just need to send via courier. If you can stay at a place that’s near one, even better.

Purchase a foreign language dictionary

Or see if you can find a foreign language translation app for your smartphone. This is handy if you didn’t have time to learn the language of the country you’re in.

If you don’t have it yet, download the JotNot Scanner.

It’s an iPhone application that allows you to take pictures of documents with your smart phone and save them as PDF files. Really handy!

Utilise your smart phone.

Google Places app will save you lots of time.
