Microsoft Geeks Around The Globe Celebrate #Windows10: Upgrade Your World

You may have noticed a slight frenzy of Microsoft fans sharing all about Windows 10 last Wednesday with hashtag ‘upgradeyourworld. After many months of beta tests, Microsoft officially launched their new platform July 29th with loyal fans celebrating all over the world.

Launch parties, meet-and-greet sport celebrities, competition to nab prizes, and plenty of free-flowing drinks were had in 13 cities around the world, including Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, São Paulo, and New York.

London’s launch included an Irish rapper who improvised beats about Windows10, and even mentioned the red power ranger. Sydney, Australia was packed with tech lovers and Microsoft fans who enjoyed skilled digital artistry by Lister. While New York’s launch was hosted in the posh neighborhood of Manhattan’s Tribeca with neon Windows lights.

Singapore's Launch

Executive Lifestyle was sure to send our tech and digital contributors to the local launch - Microsoft fangirl Gina Romero, and gadget lover Lydia Neo attending the Windows 10 Fan Celebration, held at the artsy 72-13.

The SG experience included entertainment by rapper, ShiGGa Shay, DJ Nicole Chen on the decks, not to mention wall-to-wall gadgetry, swag, and prizes.

The Hashtag

Windows 10 tagline is ‘Do Great Things,’ introducing a dual concept to the recent launch and overall platform. With the hashtag #upgradeyourworld, some might assume it leans towards the 100% free upgrades Microsoft are offering to existing Windows 7 and 8 customers. However, the hashtag is a global humanitarian initiative that will determine the 10th non-profit Microsoft will be supporting with $500,000 and tech goodies. Using Instagram or Twitter do-gooders are nominated and voted for by supporters.

Microsoft’s #upgradeyourworld page speaks loud and clear:

Celebrating people and organizations who do great things

New Challenge

Microsoft doesn’t just want you to upgrade to Windows 10, as always, they’re aiming for global impact. Microsoft wants to celebrate people who empower others. With a strong, uplifting, and yet personal challenging message.

To you, Microsoft says, “let’s achieve more and do great things together. Let’s uplift each other. Share our stories. Let’s upgrade the world together.”

How will you YOU upgrade your world?
