Web Design:Why It Matters
Contributed by Paul Lim* January 21, 2017
Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites.
The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization. Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all. The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website, including writing mark up.
Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability, and if their role involves creating mark ups then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines.
Experts of custom mobile web design will skilfully be able to use your branding, logo, and corporate colour – and put together a layout that will work well on all mobile screen devices. Mobile versions of websites have fewer graphics for easy loading, and in this generation people mostly use their mobile phones to do searching, instead of desktops and laptops. Mobile websites designed by expert web designers will load quickly, are user friendly, & have a professional overall look.
A successful website is concerned about marketing and generating revenue; with a solid website layout design, its web pages navigation-friendly; and maximizes brand equity. A highly effective website should be crafted by a team of knowledgeable and creative business and marketing professionals, copywriters, graphic designers, and programmers.
