3 Easy Ways To Celebrate Life On Christmas Day

3 Easy Ways To Celebrate Life On Christmas Day

As a child, I didn’t want to grow up, because I perceived adults to be “boring people, who stopped believing in miracles and forgot how to celebrate life.”

My mom proved me wrong and I am eternally grateful for this lesson! This remarkable woman has shown me from a very young age the gift of celebration and the positive impact it has on our lives. My childhood was hardly smooth and some years were tougher than others, but my mom would always find a way to celebrate life and to be grateful for what we had.

And look how far this practice brought me! Here I am today – living the life of abundance and teaching people how to be happy and successful.

Any day is a good day to celebrate life. Including Christmas Day. Here’s what YOU could do:

1. Give Presents

The more you give the more you get. It doesn’t matter whether you are rich or poor, you can ALWAYS give presents to others and yourself. This simple habit does wonders. It teaches you about the power of SELF-LOVE and your children about GENEROSITY of SPIRIT and ABUNDANCE.

I remember one year we had a shortage of food, so my mom couldn’t even bake a cake for my brother and me. She decided to sew us some items of clothes instead. I was so thrilled to receive a new dress handmade by my mom that I didn’t even notice that it was made from one of her favourite blouses. Parental sacrifice, you might say?

Maybe it was at that time, but I always look at the results in life. Today my mom has everything she could only have dreamed of. What you sow is what you reap.

2. Create Miracles

What is a miracle? According to Oxford Dictionary, it is “an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency.”  Is iPhone a miracle? If you had shown it to a person 200 years ago, the answer would be “YES!” Is Santa Claus a miracle? If you talk to a 3-year-old child – definitely!

Miracles are not something for you to expect, but for you to create.

Look around. People are always looking for miracles. And for somebody, YOU can easily create one! It could be as simple as giving food to those who are hungry or offer help to those who are in despair. And don’t forget to create miracles for yourself.

Any action you take that is out of your comfort zone is a miracle. What can you do today?

3. Practice Gratitude

There is hardly a better way to celebrate life than to practice gratitude! You ALREADY got so much. Start learning how to be grateful… and you will get so much more!

I remember when life got tough and as a child I was stuck in self-pity, my mom would always redirect my attention from myself to even less fortunate kids and say something like: “Look at them. They have no parents at all. How do you think THEY feel about life?” And before I knew it, my mom changed my perspective. She has always done it. And I am very grateful to her for teaching me this lesson.

Because what is gratitude, if not a shift in perspective?

Life is like a parade. There are always people who are in front of you and those who are behind you. You are in exactly the right spot. Be grateful.

Everything gets better with practice! CELEBRATE LIFE… every day!
