7 Staples For On-The-Go Makeup
Contributed by Beth Candice Wu May 20, 2016
It is every lady’s dream to have nothing but time to devote to looking perfectly polished. The reality is that one does what one can when on the go.
We’ve gathered all our makeup pouches and put together a list of products that we agree will help you pull yourself together as quickly as possible.
1. Tinted Moisturiser With Sunscreen
This is a sheer product, so you can put it on without a mirror. We recommend NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
2. Concealer
To save time, dab it on your finger and blend it onto your skin. This way is quicker than a brush and you need not be too precise. Try Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer.
3. Cream Blush
This is the easiest makeup product ever invented. Look for formulas such as Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss And Blush 7 Corail Affranchi. Consider using a neutral shade, such as a peachy bronze, as you can double up and swipe it over your eyelids and lips. Pretty, easy and done.
4. Eyeliner Pencil
The beauty of this product is that it’s easy to apply and does the blending for you. We like Chanel Le Crayon Jeux Precision Eye Definer.
5. Mascara
30 seconds is all you need for that major impact. Choose a no-clump formula, such as Lancôme Grandiose Smudge Proof Wide-Angle Fan Effect Mascara, so you can just swipe and go.
6. Sharpened Eyebrow Pencil
Faster than powders, pencils have the most natural effect. Just make sure there is a spoolie brush on the other end, to feather out the colour. Try Yves Saint Laurent Dessin Des Sourcils.
7. Foundation
We love Sulwhasoo Evenfair Perfecting Cushion, which has zero mess, no spillage and is easily blended.
Armed with your simple on-the-go pouch, you can easily conquer these four occasions in five minutes flat:
The Morning Commute
For a five-minute makeover, simply apply concealer around your nose. Apply your 2-in-1 cream blush and swipe your lashes with mascara. Done.
The Power Lunch
Brush powder on your T-zone to minimise midday shine. Apply a light-coloured lipstick (or 2-in-1 cream blush). Pull a ponytail into a bun to indicate you mean business.
4pm Touch-Up
The beauty version of a Starbucks break. Apply a touch of blush and dab on lip-gloss to instantly wake up a tired-looking complexion.
After-Work Cocktails
Firstly, freshen up with some foundation. Then grab your eyeliner and apply it across your upper lash line. There’s no need to be too precise; the beauty is in the slept-in style. Gently smudge with your finger.Next, grab your cream blusher and dab a little on the apples of your cheeks for a fresh, healthy look. Remember to also apply some on your lips. With your concealer, dab it under your eyes and blend with your fingers. Swipe on your mascara, and hello beautiful!
