The Athena Network Singapore Joins Connected Women

The Athena Network Singapore Joins Connected Women

We are excited to announce that The Athena Network Singapore Chapter is joining Connected Women!

Launched in February 2012, The Athena Network Singapore has catered to a dynamic community of women entrepreneurs and executives.

A Brief History

When Jacqueline Rogers founded The Athena Network in the UK in 2006, her aim was to provide a collaborative platform for women entrepreneurs to grow their business through focused networking, as well as benefit from additional training.

I benefited immensely from being a member of The Athena Network in the UK, and with the encouragement of my co-founder Claire Kidd, we brought the brand to Singapore over six years ago.

Since then, we’ve been creating connections and inspiring success for hundreds of women at our monthly Cappuccino Connections, Executive Connections, Executive Club and Nifty-Networking events.

Exciting Changes

Now that my work at Connected Women is taking up more and more of my time, Jacqueline and I decided that Athena Singapore members would be better served under Connected Women, which I still run out of Singapore.

As the Athena Singapore community is brought under Connected Women there will be new opportunities for all including launching chapter meetups for women entrepreneurs, freelancers, and professionals who want to Share, Connect, Work and Learn.

Productivity, remote teams, and tech-powered entrepreneurship are at the heart of Connected Women’s mission, as well as digital marketing training through our partnership with Facebook’s #SheMeansBusiness initiative.

We also hope to work on more community initiatives such as digital literacy and online safety for those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.

What’s Next?

While some things may change, others will always remain. We will continue to uphold The Athena Network community values and you can still expect to be part of a warm and welcoming environment and a forum to share your experiences.

This is not the end for the ladies of The Athena Network Singapore, there is so much more to come. I hope that everything you have gained from being part of the Athena Network will inspire you to take the Athena values with you wherever you go, just as I did 12 years ago.

While most events will now be under Connected Women, look out for the occasional Athena Network pop-up event every now and then!

Thank You

On a personal note, I want to thank everyone who has supported The Athena Network since the beginning. There are too many amazing people to mention here, but I hope you know who you are and how much you are appreciated,

When Claire and I launched Athena, we just wanted to bring a few women in Singapore together for networking and support. We never expected what that little idea would bring.

Together, we created something beautiful that has deeply impacted the women in our community.

March has a very special significance, as we celebrate International Women’s Day. This month belongs to every woman, and her achievements. The perfect time to make this exciting announcement!

Thank you, Athena.
Here’s to creating connections and inspiring success.

ABOUT ME: Tech-smart, business-savvy, down-to-earth. Connector of people & ideas.

I often introduce myself as someone who has failed in business several times since the age of 16, not because I am proud of my mistakes but because I value failure as a catalyst for success. I have since dedicated my life to helping others succeed.

Community, entrepreneurship and technology are at the heart of everything I do. I run a number of businesses and initiatives with a focus on providing a platform for women to harness technology for success.

I was invited by LinkedIn to be part of their LinkedIn Speaker Series and be among the 106 inspiring and innovative thinkers from around the globe. Read about it here.
