Beat Your Little Voice: Give Yourself Permission And Empower!

Warmest greetings from the beautiful country of the USA!
My US adventure is winding down, and I’ve had an opportunity to have life changing experiences, meet amazing people and learn some of the biggest and deepest life lessons ever. Now, empower yourself by crushing the doubtful voice within.

Today, I want to touch on what it takes to experience a PERMANENT inner shift within yourself … so you finally give yourself the drive and permission to do what you were placed on this planet to do. I’ve worked with so many people all over the world and I find there are two  things that stop people from doing and achieving what they desire. Namely, internal and external obstacles.

However, I find that it’s the INTERNAL obstacles that are the most damaging. Usually this is the “little voice” inside yelling and screaming vile comments at YOU telling you why you can’t make it or do it. Sometimes, it’s the soft voice of doubt whispering all the reasons why it wouldn’t work, and why you should do it “next time” Whatever form it appears in, I have come to realize that if you can manage your internal obstacles the game is 95% won.

I’m serious.

You can find more money, you can find the right people, you can find the right industry, you can master the skills, you can become an expert in your niche. But first you must START! And you must CONTINUE.

That’s the two things most people don’t do, because their “little voice” takes them out of the game. Now that we are all clear on that, I want to give you seven ways your “little voice” sabotages your chances of success.

1. “I’m not good enough.”

This comment, believe it or not, is a delay tactic. What usually follows is the “suggestion” that you should wait, take another course, research more, etc BEFORE taking action. Remember, the goal of the “little voice” is to keep you safe and away from doing anything that might challenge the way things currently are!

It’s counting on the fact that if you are persuaded to “do it later,” eventually you will drop the idea and keep things the same. Be aware when you hear these four words in the future, and recognize it for what it truly is–a delay tactic to prevent you from taking life-changing action.

2. “I don’t know how to do it.”

This comment puts the frame of helplessness and victimhood on you, robbing you of strength and creativity. When you say you don’t know, you are giving up responsibility. Because the simple answer to that is “GO FIND OUT THEN!”

There are libraries, websites, courses etc that can give you all the answers you need in any format you desire. We live in an information age, so when you say you know, you are really saying, “I’m too lazy to go and find out.” Be honest with yourself in this regard. Whatever you desire to know, you CAN find out if you act.

3. “I don’t have enough resources.”

This comment is another sly delay tactic by your “little voice.” The goal once again is to get you to postpone taking action to another time when I have more resources.Recognize this: the BEST resources you can have are HEART, DRIVE, and MOMENTUM.

If you have these things, you can literally start with all the loose change in your pocket and become successful. An important part of Blair’s programs is to learn how to sell. And (I know it sounds crazy!), but some people with the right DRIVE and mental attitude can walk out onto the streets, talk to strangers, close deals and walk back with THOUSANDS of dollars.

It’s about being in the right state of mind to IDENTIFY opportunities and take them. It’s about being RESOURCEFUL and CREATIVE to see the gap in what people need and filling that. Once you see the world from that point of view, you’ll see a TON of opportunities wherever you care to look.

4. “I cannot see the bigger picture.”

Yet another delaying tactic.

The “little voice” wants you to take action ONLY when you see the bigger picture. Time and destination, unknown. Well, here’s the thing, you don’t WAIT on your behind to see the bigger picture! 🙂 You ACT and MOVE FORWARD and the picture gets clearer.

So if you want more clarity, you have to match the universe step-for-step. Take action, and you’ll see the next step clearly!

5. “I know it won’t work.”

Really? Because you have done it before?

This is the “little voice” putting you down before you even start. Recognize the tactic for what it really is. Also, THIS MOMENT (yup, this very moment right now), it’s fair. You could do something RIGHT NOW and change your life forever. And as you do it, it wouldn’t matter what happened before, what happened when you were younger, what mistakes you made–it’s ABOUT THE PRESENT and THIS MOMENT RIGHT NOW.

It’s what we do in the moment that matters. Our past is history. We need to learn the lessons from the past, and then unlock its hold over our present. Only then can we see the MOMENT right now for all the amazingness and opportunity it holds and take full advantage of it.

6. “I’ve never done it before.”

Great. Start now.

Remember too that in your life so far, you’ve also picked up skills you’ve never learnt before like using the toilet, walking, writing and speaking. Why not add another one to the list?

7. “Who the hell do I think I am?”

I mean this sincerely: You are a unique spirit with a unique gift that you have been sent here to deliver.

Honour that, because what you have is valuable. It’s different than what I have, what other people have. And realize this, the people you see on TV, they are using their unique gifts to the best of their abilities.

Why not you? Why not let your light shine and bless all of us with your talents? In closing, understand the REASON WHY your “little voice” says these things to you. Its real goal is to stop you from acting–because it wants to protect you. It will say just about anything to get you to stop.

But you don’t have to its slave anymore. You can break free, and despite its screams and comments, keep walking forward to your goals.

It’s worth it. You’re worth it.
