Christmas Mulled Apple Juice Recipe

Mulled Apple Juice Recipe

This mulled apple juice bursts with additional vitamin-C from oranges and lemons. Served with cinnamon sticks and whole cloves, it has an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effect to keep you healthy.

Very popular in the snowy mountain region of South Tirol in Italy, where I first drank it years ago.

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Ready in : 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5 liter apple juice
  • 4 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • orange and lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Pour the apple juice and maple syrup into a large stainless steel saucepan
  2. Add cinnamon, cloves and heat up over medium heat, but do not let boil
  3. Remove from the heat, and pour into serving cups through a sieve
  4. Add orange and lemon slices and enjoy (adults may wish to fortify)!
