#ConnectedWomen – Davao City, Philippines – October 12 (Event)

On October 12, 2017, we launched our first official Connected Women #SheMeansBusiness Philippines event at Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City with 100+ attendees!
Connected Women’s programme objective is to increase the economic participation of women in the Philippines through entrepreneurship and the adoption of technology for business success.
With this mission in mind, we are launching 10 events in 10 cities across the Philippines through 2018. Here are some of the insights from the Connected Women Davao launch, in partnership with #SheMeansBusiness:
Event Agenda and Speakers
The event agenda was simple: train women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to use Facebook and Instagram to grow their business.
Chris Kuzhuppilly, PH Policy Programs Manager, shared powerful facts about the Philippines as the social media capital of the world.
Professor Aries Patawaran, the Lead Trainer for #SheMeansBusiness in the Philippines, taught online marketing strategy and shared practical tips and best practices for Online Marketing, Facebook Pages and Admin Tools and Content.
Gina Romero, Co-Founder of Connected Women, shared #SheMeansBusiness: Top Ten Tips For Women Starting A Small Business.
Attendee Demographics
Our attendees were 20 to 55-year-old women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs who live in Davao City. The majority are fairly new to the business scene but are keen to find success in entrepreneurship.
Almost half already have a Facebook Business Page.
However, more than 50% are still using their Facebook personal profile to promote their business.
With the Facebook tips Prof. Aries shared at the event,
they can make the most of their Facebook Pages!
Event Promotion Analytics
The event promotion generated 106 Attendees, 1,794 Event Blog Post Link Clicks, 18,986 FB Event Video Views, 64,560 Event Blog Post Reach, 52,810 Facebook Event Video Reach.
The Davao event promo video was created using footage from the Connected Women #SheMeansBusiness Makati (Pilot) Event on June 28th 2017.
We also grew the Connected Women Facebook Group and Facebook page to 1,000 Members and 7,544 Page Likes!

As part of our celebration of Filipina Entrepreneurs, we created two inspiring interviews with on Connected Women’s content platform and shared the stories with the community via Facebook.
