A Day In The Life Of A Certified Life Purpose Coach

Like many new moms, Viviene Bigornia also struggled to find her life’s purpose beyond nappies and child care. Two kids and a life coach certification later, she has regained her bearings to become a woman with a mission: to help fellow women discover their passions and become the best versions of themselves.
Titled “A Day In The Life Of A Woman,” this series celebrates the women in our lives. From the everyday to inspirational, the series aims to highlight women from various fields and share a bit of the diversity we experience every day.
After becoming a mom, I thought that was all I would ever be. However, I realized there are other things I could still do. After a year of praying, researching, and working with different coaches, I realized that I wanted to inspire and empower ambitious women to pursue their dreams. Right now, I conduct motivational talks and goal setting workshops, write e-books, and run online courses—all aimed at helping women discover and pursue their passions.
6:00 A.M. – Wake up (rather unwillingly) to my happy and active one-year-old!
7:00 A.M. – Kids have breakfast.
7:30 A.M. – Fold clothes and tidy up our bedrooms.
8:00 A.M. – Play time and reading time with my kids.
9:00 A.M. – Quick breakfast (for me) and then put my one-year-old down for a nap.
10:00 A.M. – Prepare lunch with my kids, then eat lunch.
11:00 A.M. – Bath time for the kids.
12:00 NN – Nap time for the kids. Time to work! I have two to three hours to do everything I need to work on my computer. I write newsletters, create content for social media, prepare materials for my courses/workshops, write scripts for my events, etc. This is also my time to refresh—read the Bible, read a book, or watch something inspiring.
3:00 P.M. – Kids wake up from their nap. Play time again and finish other household chores I still need to do.
5:00 P.M. – Prepare dinner and take a shower after.
7:00 P.M. – I put the kids to bed. My daughter, who turned four recently, won’t sleep until around 8:00 or 9:00 P.M. so whatever I do, she just sits beside me.
8:00 P.M. – I teach English to a Chinese student for one hour, five days a week. I recently started taking in students again, as I used to be an ESL teacher for almost a decade.
9:00 P.M. – I put my daughter to sleep. I check my social media, email and do other tasks.
11:00 P.M. – I finally call it a day!
What is the most challenging part of your job or day?
I think the most challenging part of my day is having to do everything on my own without a helper. I always thought that if I had a helper doing household chores, I could focus on more important things like work, and have more time for myself and my kids. But I’m doing okay so far. Plus, the good thing about not having a helper is that my kids get to learn how to tidy up, wash the dishes, and generally help more around the house.
What do you like most about your job or business?
When I created my first vision board in 2008, the mission I wrote there was: to inspire women and youth to reach their full potential for God’s glory. I didn’t realize until much later that what I wrote weren’t just random words. What I wrote was something I wanted to do in my life. I wanted to inspire and empower ambitious women to pursue their dreams. Every time I get messages from my clients and students, telling me about how their lives have changed and how inspired they had been after our sessions or seminar, it makes me feel fulfilled. I know I am doing what I’m meant to be doing.
Favorite quote.
I have a lot of favorite quotes! One of my favorite quotes is, “If you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right” by Henry Ford. I believe in the power of positive thinking. If you keep telling yourself you can’t, well, you probably can’t. But if you tell yourself you can, then you train your brain to say yes to opportunities and say no to excuses.
There are many things in life we cannot control but we fail to realize that there are also many things in life that we can control and that includes our mindset. That leads me to the other favorite quote I love, this time from Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” I believe visualization helps train our brains to make our dreams a reality. If you can imagine success, then you can definitely achieve success.
