Beauty Enterprise CEO And Co-Founder: A Day In The Life Of A Woman | Connected Women

Managing a business that is rooted in another country can be a challenge, but this beauty enterprise CEO and co-founder shows how it’s done with focus and diligence. While her day is packed with work mostly, she still achieves in other aspects by strategically squeezing other activities in her routine.

Titled “A Day In The Life Of A Woman,” this series celebrates the women in our lives. From the everyday to inspirational, the series aims to highlight women from various fields and share a bit of the diversity we experience every day.

Joy Kang is a co-founder and CEO at Eunogo, a digital healthcare company for beauty and wellness in Korea. She founded it two and a half years ago with her fellow woman founder. Their customers include foreigners who look for quality aesthetics and wellness procedures in Seoul.

Currently they have over 60 medical and beauty service partners in Seoul. Eunogo is also one of the few licensed medical tourism businesses by the Korea Ministry of Health & Welfare.

As CEO, Joy is in charge of customer experience and growth at the company. She moved to Singapore about a year ago to grow Eunogo in Southeast Asia.

Below is how one of her days goes:

8 AM: Sit down with a cup of coffee and start planning the day including what goals we need to achieve and making a to-do list. Then I check industry-related articles from Google alerts.

9 AM: This is our customers’ and my “me” time. I review our web traffics, bookings, all our customers’ inquiries and procedure feedback from the day before, then I talk to them. I do this on daily basis to understand our customers better and improve our service and product standards to better serve them.

10 AM:  Medical team meeting—this is a very exciting moment for our team. Our medical team lists up all new verified beauty & wellness programs provided by our medical partners in Korea that will potentially be added to Eunogo. Our team go over together to decide which one to add and when and discuss relevant contents.

11 AM: High impact work time. No emails or calls. I focus on an important project of the period which can be developing sales pitch, product improvement, marketing partnership ideas, or investor pitch etc. I’m most energized between 9-12AM so I try to allocate brainstorming or creative work during this time of the day.

12 NN: Off to gym.  A workout in between gives me energy during the day. I cannot do this every day but I try to allocate gym time before or during lunch time, which is a great way to pump myself up for the afternoon.

1 PM: Lunch with client.

2 PM: Giving a presentation about new Korean anti-aging trends and programs at our sales partners monthly meeting

4 PM: Meeting with a sales/marketing partner.

5 PM: Call with my marketing team in Korea, discussing digital influencer campaigns, newsletter, and new contents.

6 PM:  Daily call with my co-founder in Korea. Since we are apart geographically, we have a call everyday at the end of the day to review our progress, update each other what we did and will do, discuss HR or accounting issues etc.

8 PM: Networking event or business dinner. I like meeting new people and make connections with like-minded people. Also since I’m relatively new to Singapore, I want to expand my network here.

10 PM: Back home. I talk to clients who left consultation requests in the evening. Check on our Instagram.

11 PM: Relax. Watch movie or read or do online shopping (Of course while putting sheet mask pack on my face!) Do something I like outside my work.

12 NN: Ready for bed! I do a bit of stretching and sleep meditation to help sleep better.

Technology Helping In Efficiency

“I love Evernote,” shares Joy on the apps and programs she uses for work. “I write down most of my brainstorming ideas, memo, and to-do list in Evernote. For team communication, we use Jandi which is great. We also use Basecamp for project management. We also love to use Canva for design.”

Focusing On High Impact Work

Joy tells how she doesn’t get distracted when she has to do the most important parts of her work load. “I try to allocate at least one hour a day as a high impact work time, otherwise it’s very easy to be swamped with daily operational work. During the high impact work time, I either work on new sales pitch, strategic brainstorming, new marketing ideas etc. Also it’s important to allocate high impact work time when I feel most energized during the day and for me it’s morning, from 9-12NN.”
