Join Gina Romero and special guests, multi-awarded serial entrepreneur Elim Chew and community builder and co-founder of Women In Asia, Vivian Lim as they discuss how entrepreneurs can leverage the Entrepreneur Mindset to build and grow successful businesses.
About Elim
Elim Chew is best known as the founder of 77th Street, the retail store specialising in street wear for teenagers. She is an advocate of social entrepreneurship and believes that businesses can contribute to the community. Elim sits on various boards and committees in the public sector as well as youth and community organisations and has received many awards, including Singapore’s Public Service Medal.
As an entrepreneur, Elim has successfully reinvented herself many times, setting up and investing in businesses across various industries and pioneering social entrepreneurship initiatives in Singapore and internationally.
Her innovative thinking, grit, and commitment to making a positive impact have kept her one step ahead of industry challenges. Elim’s journey is one of Singapore’s best-loved entrepreneurial success stories.
About Vivian
Vivian Lim is a community builder and storyteller. She was part of the co-founding team at TEDxNTU, where she curated more than 8 years of Ideas Worth Spreading till date. Currently, she is the co-curator at TEDxSingapore and TEDxNTU. Licensed under the non-profit TED brand, both organisations serve local communities to discover Ideas Worth Spreading.
She also co-founded Women In Asia, a ground-up organisation which uncovers hidden stories of women around Asia, with the aim to bridge cultural and gender differences. Women In Asia brings together thinkers and thought leaders to build an open and inclusive community, where it gives opportunities, bold new conversations and innovations happening in Asia.
From building a non-profit movement spreading ideas, to a community platform amplifying perspectives from Asia, her entrepreneurial journey has been about constant reinvention and taking some unexpected paths. Her mission has been about driving ideas and projects that focuses on community inclusion and have positive impacts on the community.
