Healthy Eating For Busy Bees

Healthy Eating For Busy Bees | Connected Women

The first thing that goes when people are busy is healthy meals. And when you’re one very busy woman, you definitely have your share of stressful days. These days may often lead you to crave for comfort food, which often end up being fast food, because we want it quick.

However, fast food hardly ever translates to healthy. They are not nutrient-rich and are full of transfats and other preservatives! We owe it to ourselves to fuel our bodies with the right kind of food. We will not pump unleaded cars with diesel right? Then let us not do the same to our bodies.

Here are some healthy tips to help us eat better even on our rush day:

1.  Pack healthy snacks the night before.

Put some trail mix in a ziplock, or pack a granola, or even pre-cut fruits.

2. Fill up our water bottle the night before.

Staying hydrated will help us resist unhealthy sodas.

3. Try to limit the amount of sweets.

Having a sugar rush will only tempt us to crave more unhealthy stuff!

4. When going to events, choose healthier options such as the veggie platter or salad bar.

5. Avoid the drive-thru.

Make something simple and power-packed the day before you go, or in the morning if you have time.

6. On a road trip or have a long drive between destinations?

Eating out in a healthy way is all about portion size, so ask exactly how large your order will be before you commit.

7. Stock up on nutritious, on-the-go foods like apples and oranges, snack-size low-fat yogurt, raw nuts, raisins and other dried fruit.

Planning healthy snacks and meals ahead of time will help us resist in putting junk food in our mouths. There’s a reason why it is called junk! Think about it.

How do you stay healthy while on the go? What are some of your favourite easy, quick eat choices?
