Healthy Family Pizza (With A Nutritious Pasta Sauce & Lots Of Veggies)

Pizza for dinner – great! However there’s pizza, and there is pizza.
Our healthy variation comes with a whole-wheat base topped with a nutritious pasta sauce with lots of veggies and some cheese. Let your kids help you!
- Preparation time: 15 minutes
- Ready in: 40 minutes
Ingredients
Pizza Dough
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup multipurpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup milk
Topping
- 1 cup tomato sauce (bought / homemade)
- 1.5 cup veggies of choice (e.g. thinly sliced onion, corn, broccoli florets, red pepper thinly sliced, tomatoes)
- 1 cup shredded Mozzarella
- Small bunch fresh oregano leaves, roughly chopped
- Add your favourite healthy toppings!
Pizza Dough
- Stir the dry ingredients.
- Mix the wet ingredients in a jug.
- Stir wet mixture into the dry mixture until in a dough mixture.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and roll to about 0.5 cm thin.
- Place in a pizza tin and pierce lightly with fork at 3 cm intervals.
- Preheat oven to 200 °C.
Topping
- Spoon and smooth pizza sauce on base.
- Place vegetables & herbs evenly on top.
- Sprinkle cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes & enjoy!
