How To Boost Your Influence, Examples From Our Own Experts!

Did you know that Executive Lifestyle is already 18 months old? In that short period of time, we’ve seen a number of our experts featured in various press and media publications. Now we want to share their success and inspire you, because you can do it too!

Our Featured Experts are influencers in their fields offline, and are boosting their exposure online while learning to market their content and solidify their brand.

Of course, we don’t want to just show off some of the amazing accomplishments the contributors are making, we also want to give you actionable tips so you can start building your influence in your industry too!

5 Tips To Boost Your Influence Online and Offline

1. Be Consistent

This is key to your success. If you have a consistent social media and in-person networking presence, and can be consistent in posting your expertise in the form of content, then you continue to build a sense of trust and reliability with your audience.

2. Network

Whether you’re networking in the form of 140 characters, emoticons, or real-life handshakes, you need to get out there. People aren’t just going to ‘happen’ upon your brilliance and spread it throughout the Earth. Need a few more reasons to network?

3. Add Your Main Social Media Handle To Everything

If you’re not part of the moment, you cannot influence it. And where else to keep updated and be part of viral news and content than on social media? You don’t have to be all-in on every single platform; pick the one where most of your ideal audience hangs out. Then add the social handle from that platform to your business card, your email signature, and your other online platforms.

The aim is to draw your audience to that one platform where you both love to be, and then be the influencer of your industry on that specific platform (which requires you to implement tips 1 and 2).

4. Figure Out Your Stand And Brand

You cannot please everyone – fact of life. So what is it that you and your business stand for? Make that stand and be bold.

Then your branding should complement that. If I say I’m a fierce female entrepreneur who wants to bring that boldness out in other women, I might not go with soft pastels because it feels more girly than “fierce”. That’s only your visual branding; your voice and the words you do or do not choose to use in your business also speak of your brand. Figure it out; influencers have their own branding and make a stand.

5. Say Yes!

Say ‘yes’ to that interview, the podcast invite, and the workshop leading. Say ‘yes’ if it isn’t going to burn you out or doesn’t interfere with family time. Say ‘yes’ wisely and get your expertise out there!

She’s also been featured in various magazines; the most notable was her three-page spread in the December issue of Expat Living, and her interview with UYD magazine in New York, as she spoke about using her experience to make a difference.

In her member spotlight on the PrimeTime Women’s Association website, they described Natalie with bold words: “Socialist political writer; business innovation specialist; mentor and leadership coach; beauty and health ambassador.” When I think of Natalie, “innovation” is the word that comes to mind. Her work, her businesses, her ideas, and even her lifestyle, are all innovative.

Most recently, Natalie was found on Executive Lifestyle by a consultancy practice that specialises in future trends: a perfect match for what she does through her own businesses with skincare and anti-aging. She was invited to speak and was encouraged and delighted by the feedback she received.

Ujjwala Baxi, dietitian and diabetes educator, has been stretching her wings and growing her repertoire. She’s contributed to various online publications including Executive Lifestyle, and recently presented at a Cancer Awareness Seminar with Prime Magazine.

“Being only 24 this year, it was a big honour for me.”

She’s currently in the process of talking to Conservation International as well as Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES) to produce DIY travel itineraries as well as photographs of places they support.

“The real secret to building influence is simple: it’s about showing up, over and over again. Also, being authentic, transparent and generous with your knowledge and expertise is a great way to cultivate trust and nurture relationships.

Well done to our amazing experts who are consistently putting themselves out there – getting, seen found and talked about.” – Gina Romero
