Who would have thought that behind the closed doors of Singapore’s residences, clutter would be an issue? But everyone loves something, and sometimes we love things too much. Then there are those of us who are the exact opposite; we don’t love our spaces enough to keep them organised until we’re buried in overwhelm and are too shy to ask for help.
Nathalie Ricaud has built a successful business of helping people overcome their clutter and organise their lives, whether it derives from keeping too many things out of love, or lack of organisational skill. We’re not just talking about de-cluttering your bedroom closet: Nathalie works in all kinds of spaces, and even helps clients manage their papers, or their time.
Most recently, she’s tremendously enjoyed being invited to speak at local workshops in partnership with Invisible Spaces. There was only going to be two sessions, but demand was so high that they created a third! Several participants said that Nathalie and her passion to help were “inspiring”, and the feedback was not only positive, it made Nathalie see she is achieving her goals!
Although her industry is fairly new in Singapore, she’s raising awareness of the need for organised spaces, and gaining clients.“…there’s a lot of shame associated with being cluttered or facing organising challenges, so it’s fantastic to be able to let people know that they are not alone and that there are solutions to the issues they face.”
How Passion Became A Successful Small Business When asked what she thought attributed to people’s desire to share her work, Nathalie said:
“It’s probably a combination of several things, but let’s focus on what I think may be the two main reasons.
First of all, professional organising is a relatively new industry in this part of the world so when I started getting noticed, the interest spread, especially when people realised the impact that being organised can have on a person’s well-being and happiness.
And second of all, I think people I interact with can feel my passion for organising and can sense that I genuinely love to help others, so they probably remember me for these.”
Not only does Nathalie speak at workshops, and get real with clients, she’s also dedicated to writing various articles for multiple online and physical publications every month. Plus, she takes time to network with other like-minded women through The Athena Network.
Essentially, Nathalie works hard for her business, and she is reaping the rewards!

Words Of Wisdom If You Want To Be An Influencer
“Be patient; it does take time to be recognised as an expert in your field. You may not have a high success rate at first when you approach the media. So start with a blog and don’t hesitate to share your knowledge for free when you write. It will help build your credibility both with the media and subsequently with your customers. From there it’s a snowball effect.”
Since she’s being talked about more, Nathalie has also noticed a definite difference in gaining clients: “It has driven more people to my website, with a higher conversion rate.”
