Not Getting What You Desire In Life? This Could Be Why

To manifest your desires is a practice that takes action and patience.
Many people in our current fast-paced society think that merely taking a couple of minutes each day to imagine what they desire will get them what they want. As important it is to imagine and feel your desire, it’s equally important to take action on what it is that you want. The truth is, you need to be dedicated and devoted to what it is that you want. Whether it’s a new car or a new career, be committed. When you’re committed, there’s nothing that will stop you from receiving your desires.
Let’s say that you want to have a healthy body, with a six pack and toned arms. You can really visualise yourself with this new body, but the thought of hitting the gym four to five times a week does not appeal to you. Still, in order to get the body that you want, you’ll need to commit yourself to the physical activities that will get you the body that you dream of.
Do you have a goal or desire that you want to achieve? The first step to getting what you want is writing down the actual desire, and the process or steps you will take to achieve that desire. What is the process you need to follow in order to achieve your goal?
As I have a huge passion for helping people shine within so they can love beyond, let’s do an example together that focuses on attracting a happy and loving relationship.
Desire:
To Be In A Happy And Loving Relationship
The Process:
- Create a meaningful online profile.
- Sign up for different online dating sites and matchmaking sites.
- Join meetup groups, or participate in activities that you’re interested in.
- Give love to yourself by making positive choices that fill your mind, body, and soul.
- Be happy and joyful most of the time by choosing loving and grateful thoughts.
- Visualize how you want to feel in your ideal relationship.
- Go on dates.
- Meditate, and surrender desire to a higher power.
- Keep repeating steps four, five, six, seven, and eight.
Now, it’s time to write your own desire and process.
So now that you’ve written down the process, close your eyes and visualise doing all of the things you’ve listed. Take four to five minutes and go over each part of the process. Can you imagine yourself committing 4, 5 or even 10 hours a week to the process for three to nine months?
Open your eyes. Now it’s time to decide. Are you ready to commit to your goal or desire?
If the answer is yes, continue reading.
During the process of achieving what it is that you want, you will go through many ups and downs. Things won’t always be easy, and you could have resistance. Resistance is completely normal, and you wouldn’t be human if you didn’t have it.
According to author Steven Pressfield, “The more important an activity is to your soul’s evolution, the more resistance you will feel to it – the more fear you will feel.”
Next Steps:
What may come up during your process are setbacks. Setbacks are difficulties or disappointments that can deter you from your goal or desire. Writing down and understanding your setbacks are important steps in helping you achieve your goals or desires. Below is an example of setbacks that could come into your reality when trying to attract a relationship.
Setbacks:
- Envy/jealousy of people in relationships.
- Dates that are lackluster, or just plain horrible.
- Feeling more loneliness.
- Losing hope, and feeling like you’re never going to meet someone.
- Nervousness and/or anxiety before meeting new people.
- Resistance to being open and vulnerable.
When you can write down and understand your setbacks, this will help you to push through when they arise. When you’re committed to the process, not even your setbacks can stop you.
Writing down what you will do when a problem occurs is a great way to conquer a setback. Having a plan in place when a setback happens will help you to have less resistance to move forward when a difficulty occurs. For example, let’s say you go on a horrible date. After the date, you could call a friend who will comfort you and remind you not to give up on your desire of being in a relationship. Understanding the monsters hiding in your closet will make it much easier to deal with when they want to come out and play.
Okay, there you have it! That’s my process whenever I want to commit to a goal or desire. Remember: It’s all about the action and patience, and understanding what your setbacks are. Dedicating to the process is necessary to achieving your goals. Resistance might creep up, but know deep inside that you’re so worthy and deserving of all your wants and desires.
