Putting In The Work Every Day: What All Elite Performers Know and Do

We’ve spent more than a few posts talking about how you can find your inner purpose and create the life you want. But this week is all about doing the work and making it happen.I’ve interviewed plenty of successful people for YanaTV and almost all of them agree you need to do this ONE thing if you want to succeed.

That is simply to DO THE WORK.
Sounds obvious and simple? Except it isn’t.

See, everyone KNOWS that they have to put in the work to make things happen – except very few actually do. Most other people sit and wish, then immediately fall prey to whatever temptations creep up on them. A friend calls to invite them to a party – and they agree instantly, sacrificing work that needs completing. They see a movie trailer – and it’s off to the cinema for a night of fun. That kind of behaviour is a LARGE reason why plenty of people wish for things to change but never manage to turn their dreams and wishes into reality.

The next type of behaviour is the dreaded act of procrastination. There are people who want something to happen so badly, so perfectly and so flawlessly that they fear taking action.

“What if it doesn’t work?”
“What if I meet failure?”

Hence they read, study, plan, re-plan, re-study and do whatever they can think of to delay ever taking any kind of action.Years go by and they are still planning for success in the never-ending future. Both these behaviours are killer to success.

The only alternative is to come from a place of DAILY improvement and commit not to perfection but continual improvement every single day.

It's simply the attitude of "I ask not to be perfect, but to be better than I was yesterday" and do the work every single day.

When you put in the work daily, you build momentum and confidence. You start to get good, and you feel good - your added competence leading to increased confidence.

The next thing that happens is you start to build an identity as a serious action-taker. You are telling your subconscious mind that this indeed matters to you and you are actively investing time and energy to make it happen. With this comes the willingness to go for bigger goals and dreams, to take more risks and action to make bigger things happen.

This is how you propel yourself forward - with the force of momentum and added self-belief.

If you look at serious, elite athletes, you would notice that they practice every single day. And it's not even a big deal to them - it's just part and parcel of playing at a very high level. They do their practice, get their work done and move on to the other things in their life. I urge you to adopt the same attitude.

Learn to make your work a serious, integral part of your day. Don't drop work for leisure activity or frivolous fun. Do those only after work, and make work a non-negotiable, un-compromisable part of your schedule.

If you do this and you do it everyday, your life will change in ways you cannot imagine.I promise you greater opportunities, increased levels of skill mastery and self-confidence in spades you can never imagine possible.

Put in the work everyday. The sacrifice is worth it - and more importantly your better FUTURE is worth it.

P.S. It's about putting in the work and doing whatever it takes when problems arise.
