Sept 16th – Woolf Works Wednesdays

Welcome to Woolf Works Wednesday, in association with The Founding Moms, with support from Equatorial Wines and The Unbusy Entrepreneur, held at our beautiful women’s coworking space, Woolf Works.

Woolf Works Wednesdays are a great way to meet the women (and men are also welcome!) of our wider community – we are a diverse and creative bunch! We are also a friendly bunch, please feel free to come along on your own or with a group of friends.

This month’s special guest: Namita Moolani, who will share with us 5 Things You Need To Know To Succeed In Today’s Social Marketing World.

  1. Know thyself
  2. Know others
  3. Know the numbers
  4. Know the truth about ads
  5. You KNOW what to do…now go do it!

Namita Moolani Mehra is food-obsessed, Facebook-obsessed, and family-obsessed. She spends her time cooking, writing, building and growing her own brand as well as helping both Fortune 500 and start-up brands develop their digital marketing strategies.

Namita has been a creative marketing strategist through her professional life, which includes working at Facebook for almost 5 years in both Manhattan and Singapore. Prior to Facebook, she spent seven years in the creative ad agency world of New York City. Her professional career has given her a keen understanding of what consumers want and how to connect with them. She is  a passionate foodie and creative writer at her core. She cares deeply about impacting social change and is involved in a number of different charities, and pro-bono consulting for non-profits. She is a community building mentor at HUB Singapore, and a regular contributor to Sassy Mama Singapore.

An entrepreneur and change-maker at heart, Namita is the founder and moderator of the Indian Spicebox page on Facebook, which has well over 50,000 fans. Namita is focused on making Indian cooking more accessible and non-intimidating, which inspired not only the creation of her cookbook but also led to the development of her unique ‘Spicebox Kit’.

Namita is a true global citizen and avid traveller. She was born in a remote village in Nigeria, grew up in the UK and India, studied in Chicago, and worked in New York City where she lived (in both Manhattan and across the river) for ten years. She now lives in Singapore with her husband and 2-year-old son.

Sept 17th 2015 – Demystifying the PIC Scheme with Genevieve Chan

The Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) scheme was introduced in 2010. The various features of PIC and the frequent updates by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore can get too overwhelming for business owners to unravel and stay updated.

In this 1-hour session, let us demystify PIC for you as we share information on:

  • Features of the PIC scheme
  • Reaping the benefits
  • Which option is better – the PIC Cash Payout or PIC enhanced claims?

GC Tax Services Pte. Ltd. was established in 2015 and headed by Genevieve Chan. Genevieve is an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) of the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals with fifteen years of experience in Big 4 firms and mid-size accounting companies. Genevieve specialises in Singapore taxation and advisory matters for MNCs and SMEs. Her in-depth knowledge of tax incentive schemes such as the Productivity and Innovation Credit (“PIC”) scheme enabled her clients to maximise tax benefits and achieve tax efficiencies.

Hello mums with too many kids under foot during the week!

Hello lonely writer, are the walls caving in on you?

Introducing Shut Up and Write, at Woolf Works.

A time and a space for women writers to come together on a Saturday and write. To use the sound of other fingers tapping on laptops to fuel your own fingers, to carve out a set time in the week to just DO IT. To Write.

A beautiful space, with great coffee and tea on free flow.

A spot in your schedule that is for YOU to do that blog post, short story, memoir, article, essay that you have been planning.
