The Incredible Power Of Thinking Big And Setting Bigger Goals!
Contributed by Yana Fry July 20, 2016
Most people stay motivated by things like a highly paid job, a better house, or a new sedan. Or maybe smaller things like waiting for the weekend so that they can take some time out and relax. These things are small – and not super-motivating or exciting.
Thinking big helps you stay motivated and achieve bigger goals. The bigger the goals, the higher the motivation. Here’s why that works:
You stay focused. When you set a big goal for yourself, let’s say buying an apartment (that was a big goal for me), you make a plan, and work out a routine that would help you achieve those goals. You stay focused because you know your daily tasks will finally help you achieve that big thing. You also plan accordingly. Would increasing your work hours help, or do you need to set up some other source of income? You will look for new ways to earn.
You work to your full potential. Unless you set a big goal for yourself, you would never be able to work to your full potential. It’s very simple. Why would you increase your daily working hours from eight to 15, if you have nothing to achieve? Knowing you have to achieve something, you work harder, and stay more positive and motivated.
But all of this requires you to think big, so how can you do that?
1. Feed Your Soul
To think big, you need to be with people who are positive and have big goals. They will help you muster all the support that you need to keep going. Be spontaneous, meet new people, learn about their success stories and fill yourself with passion.
2. Ask For Help
When you are stuck on something, stop and ask for help from your manager, boss or mentor. Therefore, it’s always important that you don’t choose a job, but a boss, who will lift you up and give you the inspiration to think and achieve big.
3. Get Inspired
To give yourself a pick-me-up, sit down and spend some time reading success stories. You can also try The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz to help remind yourself what you are capable of. Read something that inspires you; it could be anything.
There is a saying in the gym: Go big or go home. I strongly believe in that. We only have one life. Let’s go big before we go home.
Think BIG,
