The Raw Food Chef Who Smoothies – An Invitation to Smoothie & Movie Night

I smoothie. Do you?

That’s my way of saying I drink smoothies. Not only do I drink them, I love them, adore them, need them.

Here are the top reasons why:

  1. It’s food-to-go, good-to-go and on-the-go
  2. It’s snappy and zappy, meaning 5 minutes of your time
  3. It can be anything you want it to be
  4. It’s breakfast, lunch, snack and/or dinner
  5. It’s pre-sport, during sport, after sport
  6. It’s so easy kids can make their own (and yours)

There are many more reasons, but let’s keep it at those. I’ve just picked up some new smoothie making skills at Matthew Kenney Culinary, and it made all the difference to the flavor and texture of my smoothies. They are so smooooth now. Like, let me just roll that smoothie around my mouth a while and pick up on the base, the core, the superfoods and the sweeteners.

Remember my post about my man, the one I’m married to, who was confused as to the difference between a juice and a smoothie?

I promised to put together a class on juices and smoothies to set the record straight. And so I’ve decided to start off with a ‘Smoothie & Moovie Night’ for us ladies who want to smoothie. I’m going to share smoothies for different occasions: sports, breakfast, and chocolate cravings (naturally). There will be some technical pointers for how to build your smoothies and create your own, using different bases (such as green juice and nut milk), superfoods and sweeteners. Following this 90-minute flash class, we will head on down to my so-called ‘woman cave’ to watch a movie or documentary related to well-being.
