This Valentine’s Day, Experience The TRUE Meaning Of Love!
Contributed by Yana Fry February 14, 2016
Valentine’s Day is here, and love is very much in the air.
Except, what REALLY is love?
When we were much younger, love was the gooey feeling we had in our stomachs when we saw that cute boy from the class next door. Or that dreamy fantasy we had of the handsome movie star on the big screen. Then maybe we got into our first relationship … and we realized that love meant a completely different thing than we thought originally. Not to mention the countless other variants of love! Beyond romantic love, there’s love for friends, family, people we care about … and MORE!
Is it actually possible to define love?
I run an inspirational TV channel called YanaTV where we sit down with inspiring guests who have accomplished a lot in their field, and ask them to share their wisdom.
I had a chance, not long ago, to pose this question on the definition of love to best-selling author and world-famous trainer, Blair Singer.
Blair took a deep breath in, smiled and gave me his thoughts on love.
Having gone through a painful divorce and decades of personal development on himself (not to mention now enjoying a beautiful marriage with lovely kids), Blair's take on love is pretty profound.
Blair explained that love is a concept that never ends, and we will always be progressing in our definition of love. Here's what he has learnt so far:
- Love and intimacy aren't always the same thing! You can have love without need for intimacy. For example, you can have love for humanity and a certain cause ... without the need to be intimate.
- The clearer you are about who you really are, the more love you can experience - and the more love you have to give. It's, therefore, vital to understand yourself at the core!
- Love is one of the most powerful feelings in the world. Love keeps people, families, countries and humanity together. Consider that! We are alive till this very day because LOVE has brought us here.
- Ultimately, love comes down to a deep connection we feel inside. It's our willingness to be present to connect and feel that determines whether we can love and feel love.
Pretty profound thoughts, wouldn’t you agree?
Watch it yourself! It's only five minutes long, but perhaps the best five minutes you will ever invest!
