What do you think is the most significant contribution Filipino Women make to the country?
When a Pinay opens a business and hires fellow Filipinos, then that’s a businessman’s greatest contribution to their country.
Why?
Because you don’t just give a man fish, but teach a man to fish. Through his work, your workers can earn self confidence and self respect. He can feed his family and raise good children.
A business can help the government by paying Filipino taxes. Create Filipino goods, and help the Filipino economy.
So if you want to make a significant contribution, open a business. Big or small it does not matter. Because a business is a living being, and a Filipina manager can bring a lot of heart and pulidoness in making things happen, ensuring that the business will survive and thrive, more than originally thought possible.
What’s your best advice for Filipino women to achieve success?
Never let your gender limit your capabilities. Instead, use everything you got to succeed. Give more and do more than what is expected, and always earn the trust and respect of your counterparts and competitors in such that they will never forget you. You do this by going to a battle well prepared, and never really accepting “no” for a final answer.
Always do things in good faith and make a terrific impression. Do not submit subpar work and overdeliver. And when you make mistakes, dust yourself up and never forget the lesson.
Remember, you make your own success. But to be successful, you also need to help others find success. Because success is not done by just the individual, but rather motivating the entire team to be more than what they think they can do. In short, if you want to be successful, work hard for it and earn that success step by step until it snowballs.
